Personal Training

Dr. Colton Purscell · WLF Club, Fort Worth · New clients welcome

Most people don’t quit training because it’s hard. They quit because it was built for somebody else. Personal training in Fort Worth at WLF Club is built around your body, your history, and the life you actually want to keep doing, not a template pulled off a shelf.

What AMRAP personal training actually is

AMRAP, “as many rounds as possible”, is the engine behind WLF’s one-on-one and small-group strength work. It’s a structured format that measures real output: how much usable work you can put down with clean form before quality drops. That number becomes your baseline, and progress stops being a guess.

This isn’t a class you get lost in. A WLF coach programs every session against where your body is that week, what’s strong, what’s compensating, what needs to load and what needs to back off. The format pushes intensity. The coaching keeps it honest.

“They’ve mastered highly effective, efficient training… preventive care, strength/cardio, recovery, injury rehab, they truly do it all.”

Hanna Howard, WLF Club member

Who it’s built for

  • People who’ve trained on their own and stalled out
  • Athletes who need strength that transfers to their sport, not just the mirror
  • Adults over 40 protecting the strength that keeps them independent
  • Anyone coming back from an injury who needs load applied intelligently, not avoided

How the training works

Strength is a skill before it’s a number. Your first sessions establish movement quality and a true baseline. From there, load and volume climb on a schedule your body can actually absorb. Structured resistance training has been shown to build maximal strength, muscular endurance, and muscle size in already-trained adults (resistance-training and strength study), and high-intensity functional work raises measurable physical work capacity (HIFT and work-capacity study).

Real training isn’t about how wrecked you feel after a session. It’s about what you can still do six months from now.

Because WLF runs strength, recovery, and performance under one roof, your training plugs into the rest of the system, assisted recovery in Fort Worth on the back end, and the full performance program when you’re ready to push the ceiling. For low-impact, high-intensity strength with almost no joint load, ask your coach about pairing it with ARX adaptive resistance training.

FAQ

Is this one-on-one or group?

Both. WLF offers true one-on-one personal training and small-group sessions. Your coach builds the right fit at your first visit.

I’m not in shape yet, is that a problem?

No. The format scales to where you are. Out-of-shape and coming-back-from-injury are exactly who structured coaching is for.

How often should I train?

Most clients see real change at two to three sessions a week. Your coach sets the cadence based on your recovery and goals.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on session frequency and format. Call (817) 349-7815 or book a visit and we’ll walk you through options, no pressure.
